Berlin Bear

Berlin Bear had been stewing in my head for a while before I finally sat down and made it. I knew I wanted a bike, I knew it had to be Berlin, and I knew there had to be a bear. The bear is, after all, one of the symbols of Berlin. I think this was the second design I made to add to my fence of designs at Mauerpark.

The final piece of the puzzle was the beer. Once I had the idea of the bear holding a beer while riding his bike, the design finally came together. The baby version has a baby bottle instead, while the kids’ version keeps the adult design with, perhaps, a different bottled drink.

I wanted the design to say Berlin, but rather than putting the word somewhere obvious as a title, I incorporated it in the wheels of the bicycle.
